Ready. Steady. Grow

Ready. Set. Grow

When people ask what we do, we usually say: ‘Help people realise and release their full potential‘.

You can imagine the looks.

To soften the blow and help their confusion we usually follow it up with ‘That includes personal and professional development coaching, training and of course, employability‘.

They reply: ‘Employ…a…what?

Employability, we help people find the work they love, or for young people it’s about helping them make the transition into employment“.

They say: ‘I’ve never heard of that, if they want a ‘job’ they have to knuckle down and get one’.

*Sigh* We leave it there.

Ready. Set. Grow incorporates all the activities mentioned on these pages, plus employability.

It’s a week (5 days) long program, residential and is open to two age groups 18 – 24 and 24+.

To us, employability is so much more than the imparting of ‘how to’ information: how to write a CV, how to fill in a form, how to job search, how to find employers, how to sell yourself, how to write goals, how to be focused, how to be a team player, and so on.

Since we began in 2004 employability training programmes and courses have been a consistent part of our work. (Before this having delivered vocational training and personal development for labour market intermediaries and non-profit sector.)

Here’s Our Approach

We hold firm the belief that positive self-esteem and self-regard are critical success factors in an individual’s efforts to gain and sustain worthwhile employment and or similar. No matter what age you are.

We focus on these characteristics from the start of programmes and continue to build them throughout.   All our programmes succeed in helping people to feel better about themselves: more confident, hopeful and with goals so that they become motivated and optimistic about their chances of success.

Ready. Steady. Grow Is All About

Like all our work, our Ready. Steady. Grow is engaging, inspriring, motivational and unique.

We invest the same energy, commitment and focus on our employability programmes ensuring that we are developing the individual: not just for the workplace but for all areas of their life.

And we deliver services that are coherent and integrated, and flexibile enough to meet the needs of the individual and their personal circumstances.

Our Understanding

Redundances, barriers, cycles of unemployment, poverty, lack of confidence, limited focus and self esteem, little or no key and core personal and vocational skills, change, development and transformation in all business and employment sectors, a surge of competition, change of values, a lack of information or ‘how to’ to present to an employer…

We both know these are some of the reasons why people undertake employability training or access services.

Our Approach to Learning and Employability

Just like many of you, we too deliver services using a person centered approach.

Utilising a range of accelerated learning techniques, we work hard to ensure that our programmes are more than ‘just another training course’.

With a relaxed, inclusive style that focuses on experiential learning.

Group activities and challenges are an integral part of our approach, focusing on the rehearsal of specific behaviours, inclusive and fun for everyone, ensuring a positive learning environment and high levels of attendance and completion.

As well as the teaching of specific skills, vocational learning and behaviours, common themes run right through our programmes, that will:

  • Help individuals develop confidence in their abilities, knowledge and past life experiences
  • Support individuals to recognise they have the strength and resources to reach their personal goals, dreams and aspirations (and we’ll help people ‘see’ them if they have lost hope for their futures)
  • Open doors and minds to possibilities and opportunities available
  • Increase social, communication and relationship skills
  • Instill a passion for life long learning
  • Raise self esteem, confidence and of course, self efficacy
  • Through daily small successes increase internal motivation, drive, accountability and determination
  • Create numerous opportunities for an individual to grow, feel valued, worthy and included
